Sweat + Sweat + Sweat = Dome

Whoosh~
Finished my beloved dome
Don't ask me how I did it...
Just check it out yourself and you'll know

Day 1

We're trying to make a small prototype dome here... and where's my head? Someone blocked my face from the camera~~

Not again....

At last
~~~Me and my small little dome, on my head
This is our dome~ in smaller scale
Day 2
We brought our dome (half finished) to the studio and try to build it at there
And we did it until 3 a.m
Day 3
We built our dome on the fixed location
this is our dome, presented to you by royal family
And now for the assignment:
intention? to build a dome
actor? the people above
act? refer the pictures above
site? usm dome spine (I'll try to find the picture)
rule? the dome must be geodesic i think?
product? the gold-covered dome that you can see in the pictures above
More to come
Dome, projects, assignments.....
After construct the dome and post it online (coming soon), another assignment comes in, another one comes in after that, and another, and another... It seems like endless to me, and I don't think that these will stop until I graduate (or still continue after that?)
I think I can handle all the 'homeworks' if it had started earlier~
We started our 'so-called' assignments with something very simple, draw lines, paint, relax, draw again, relax, then draw lines again, and relax....
Suddenly we have to do a project that we haven't learn yet, and I don't think we'll learn it in this semester- DESIGN A SINGLE STOREY BUNGALOW
Yeah, like we already knew everything after some little little drawings and sketching.
All majors learned the same stuff, did the same assignments, attended the same lectures, without knowing what are the differences between each major. Although I'm in architecture, I'm still learning the same thing like other major, and by that way I can say that I' m in ID, CM, BT or even QS...
So what differs us? Obviously nothing! So no one is better and no one is worse in HBP, basically
everyone is the same~ But I'm sure there's some people out there who doesn't agree with this...
I won't comment more for now, but more to come, just wait and see...
I thought I couldn't make it in time
What can I say? This surely is one of the most tough assignment I've ever done (for now)... Not the report that make this assignment tough, but the process! I have to wait for the whole week just to take the photos for the assignment~ Let's see what I've got
This is the picture I took at the site (event near DTSP) as I thought that that day was the last day for the event. I have to took pictures from the event for my assignment~
And as I still thought that I can finish taking my pictures and enjoy my holiday after that, I was wrong... Sigh~The workers won't dismantle all the tents on that day~ I've to wait until tomorrow...
By the way, this is what the products (the tents) look like when it's finished
The next day, no sign of dismantling process, and when I ask one of the worker, he said that I'll have to wait for another two days~ My holiday was spoiled~
At last, I took the pictures two days later, and I've to wait for another three days for the dismantling process to finish~
Intention? To take pictures? To dismantle? To build? To sell foods? To shade? The intention varies with different actors, such as me, the worke
rs, the hawkers, the graduates and so on~
Site? Nearby the field beside DTSP
Rules? No rules I think.... As long as the grass stays on the field after all the events~ haha
Act? Like I said, it varies, I took pictures, they build, they sell, they graduate!
Product? The tents of course!
TOUGH JOB ISN'T IT?
Frame is done
Like what they said, less is more, I've more pictures in my laptop but i can't post it since I don't want to make this assignment looks longer. Leave a comment if someone want to see more pictures.
Human settlement assignment?
Firstly, I can't speak English very well, and I can't write well either... so if there are any mistakes in my grammar or spelling, ignore it. Treat it as a first-year student's first assignment, take whatever that's right and dump whatever that's wrong... Hehe
On the last lecture for RAG 132 ( Introduction to Build Environment & Human Settlement) , I was... err...I mean WE were exposed to the 6 elements of build environment, and that's intention, act, product, actor, rule and site.
Since this is a summary so I wont repeat each word that my lecturer has said, but I'll try to explain all in a "short and sweet" version: To build something, we must have a site ( on earth of course), and we have to gain knowledge to have intention to build something, an actor to take action (to build or to destroy), rules to control our action (either nature or man-made), and ka-boom... there's the final product.
But these elements weren't in my concern, since these are just a theory and I can get notes from my course mates if I want. I'm more interested in some of the questions that our lecturer threw to us~
  • Are human evolve from monkeys?
I can't answer that... Not even scientist can answer that confidently... Since this is my blog so I'll tell you what I think... Well, yes, I do believe that human are evolve from monkeys, but I'm sure that there were some interferences that differ us from the monkeys, but I'll comment no more about the interferences~ ;-p
  • Cynicism? Altruism?
When one thinks that there's NO right or wrong about anything... then he/she is a altruism, but what if someone thinks that there's right or wrong in everything he/she believes? I don't know how to address them~ But since their ideology is directly opposite to altruism, I'll call them EGOISM- which is the antonym for altruism~
  • And what is my '-ism'?
I'm a free-thinker, but not yet a truth-seeker... I'll only believe whatever that's already proven to be true, but sometimes I'll believe in things that's wrong... I won't eager to find out the truth until I've the enthusiasm to do so... So it's quite confusing what's my ideology~ I've all the characteristics, and that's me~ Maybe I'll call it 'thoryichun-ism'
